Dear fellow secularists, humanists, and atheists,
We, at the Secular Underground Network, are reaching out to our global community, urging you to rally behind our friends at the Atheists Society in Kenya. They are currently fighting an uphill battle for their right to exist in a climate that often challenges secular viewpoints and seeks to suppress the freedom of thought and belief.
Recent developments have seen a UDA politician and a Bishop in Kenya moving to have the Atheist Society suspended and deregistered, respectively. The links to these articles can be found here:

These actions, if successful, will not only dissolve an important safe space for freethinkers in Kenya but will also send a distressing message about the state of freedom of belief and expression in the country.
At a time like this, it is vital that we come together to support our fellow secularists, humanists, and atheists who are standing firm against attempts to silence their voices. The Atheists in Kenya Society are now seeking legal support to combat this threat to their existence and protect their rights to freedom of belief and expression.
However, the fight for justice is often costly. The society needs $800 USD to cover legal costs. It’s a small price for a big change.
We call upon you, our global community of secularists, humanists, and atheists, to contribute whatever you can. Every little bit helps. Let’s ensure that the Kenyan Atheist Society continues to thrive and serve as a beacon of hope and freedom for atheists in Kenya and beyond.
