Since the Taliban came to power (one of the terrorist and extremist Islamic groups in Afghanistan), the situation for the people of this country has deteriorated in all aspects. These problems are such as unwarranted arrests, murders, targeted killings of human rights defenders, civil society activists, women, religious minorities, LGBTQs people, closing the gates of education and work for Afghan girls and women, and creating economic crises.
When the Taliban regime came to power in Afghanistan, at first the school gates were closed for female students, and women who were working in different parts and offices were also denied working. Lately, the gates of universities have been closed for girls by an order of the leader of this chauvinist group, and women who make up half of the society, have unfortunately been deprived of their most basic rights and all their dreams have been destroyed. Seeing tearful eyes and disappointed faces and a heart full of pain of all these girls and women deprived of education, who are no longer allowed to go to universities, hurts the hearts of thousands of people who believe in human freedom and equal rights for women and men in different parts of the world. It seems that these stories have no end and despite the criticisms and pressures from the international communities and western countries on the extremist Taliban, this group has not yet made a decision to open the educational gates for Afghan women.
The Taliban know very well how to keep the foundations of Afghanistan’s future in dismay and darkness by imposing more restrictions in various sectors, especially the education sector for women, which is the creation of educated and a civilized and rational society by these women. So that they can carry out their ignorant actions at their own wishes in a society devoid of literacy and awareness.
As a human being, we are responsible not to forget Afghan women and girls and to support them until they attain their basic rights, which is education. I urge all the humanitarian groups and foreign aids to support the women and girls of Afghanistan.
Hoping for a day when Afghan women and all the women of the world will not be subjected to any kind of injustice, discrimination, cruelty and inhumane treatment.
